About this project
This sofa is made based on the theme, “Life with seat”.
This seat cushion will adjust its form to fit your favored sitting posture and envelopes the body with its soft elastic cover and its padding of micro plastic spheres.
The sofa covers are made of 2 different fabrics.
The combination of stretch material and canvas fabric provides you with a choice of various comfortable sitting positions.
By sitting in a horizontal position, "Reading Style", you can enjoy the favoured posture for reading.
Sitting in a vertical position, "Relaxing Style", will give you ideal time for an afternoon nap.
This product is made by the collaboration between MUJI and CUUSOO.

FUNCTION
The combination of stretch material and canvas fabric provides you with a choice of various comfortable sitting positions.
One part is hard canvas and the other is made of soft elastic fabric.
It enables you to enjoy the feeling of sinking down to the sofa.

HISTORY WITH MUJI
In the website of MUJI.net, run by MUJI, there was a project MONOZUKURI (Craftmanship) "Furniture・Electronics".
That project produced many items made from dreams from customer , using "CUUSOO", the first crowd-funding/crowd-sourcing platform founded in 1997.
The project of "Body-fit Sofa" started to pre-order from July 4 2002, and 50 customers joined in group purchase in 25 days. This product is currently available in MUJI stores as one of the their basic line-up.
